About Us

We breed and raise Registered Black Angus cattle at Sapling Mountain Farm, LLC in beautiful Madison County, North Carolina. Our mission is to produce premium performance animals with superior genetics that will be an asset to any herd.

Our breeding goals:

  • Low birth weight with calving ease
  • Moderate-framed cattle with strong weaning and yearling weight gains
  • Excellent carcass quality and beef value
  • Docile temperament

We proudly offer:

  • Weaned replacement heifers who can be purchased open or bred
  • Yearling bulls with strong genetics
  • Bull sires that are performance tested

Raising cattle and managing a farm is a time-honored way of life in the rugged mountains of Western North Carolina. Our farm has a rich legacy that reflects the local history of the area including a farm house that dates from the 1800s and old tobacco barns that still stand. The land offers green grass and diverse forage for our cattle to graze with open pastures amidst wooded hills. We find continual inspiration in the natural beauty that surrounds us.
